Planning: Teachers plan lessons, lesson units, field trips, a syllabus, course expectations and so much more. Being able to plan out a summer vacation is also very important. Many teachers take family vacations. A family vacation will involve some planning during the school year. Some things consider when planning a family trip are location, who will be attending, cost, and amount of time.

In addition to planning family vacations, it is important to plan activities for children. Summer enrichment camps, sports camps, summer tournaments, drama productions, piano lessons, and karate all need to be factored in. Only a parent knows what goes into planning in summer for children.

Personal activities: Summer is a special time for teachers. They truly need time to recharge and refresh. One of the best ways to do this is to participate in activities that bring enjoyment. Sometimes it might mean trying a new activity.

Look at your teaching contract and see how many classes you will need to take until the next pay increase. Any times a school offers an increase in salary with 15 additional classes. The biggest jump is when a teacher receives a masters degree. Speak with other teachers for the most cost efficient in time efficient way to accumulate credits. Paragraph plan your budget teachers know that first paycheck in the fall cannot come too soon. Many teacher unions fight over when this paycheck will be delivered to the teachers.
