Jack’s Monterey “Monterey‘s Best Sports Bar” is a great place to watch the World Cup! There are eleven bar seats and a variety of seating options near the fire or in a spacious area with trees growing.
Jack’s Monterey has an extensive menu. At our table of four, for drinks, we had an IPA, Pinot Noir, and two Jack Daniels on the rocks. We elected to not get appetizers during this meal
The staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered:
Classic Filet Mignon ($39): 4 ounce fillet, merlot reduction, garlic, purple mashed potatoes, baby carrots, wild mushrooms with purple potatoes and in a mushroom sauce.
The meat was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were unique, colorful and awesome to the taste. The carrots were great!
Jumbo Scallops ($29): feta cheese & couscous with greek kalamata olives topped with a burrata lemon beurre blanc.
The jumbo scallops was the choice of the pickiest eater. He commented they were only three, but that would be enough for him. They were prepared well and our friend completely enjoyed the meal.
Short Rib Ravioli ($26): tomatoes, garlic, cherry cream sauce, mushrooms, and parmesan.
Two thumbs up on this entree. Clean plate club member!
Aji Tuna Filet ($34): black crusted peppercorn aji tuna served with wasabi mashed potatoes, bok choy and citrus, lemon butter sauce
Our healthy friend really enjoyed the ahi tuna.
For dessert, the table shared TWO New York Cheesecake ($11) served with seasonal berries
This was simply amazing. It was a great dining experience.
Another younger table ordered tempura artichoke served with lemon garlic aïoli. $14 skirt and pommel frites $29
Warm sourdough bread oven baked sourdough served with garlic butter $10.
Ultimate Jack’s share plate calamari wings and coconut shrimp $27
