  • The Best 50 Cents a Teacher Could Invest!

My Town Tutors is the first NATIONAL website that ONLY lists teachers who tutor. It is designed to make it easy for parents to connect with local teachers who tutor.
    We have 2 simple objectives:
    1. To be the BEST resource for parents who are looking for tutors!
    2. To help teachers who tutor make money!
Last fall we tested My Town Tutors on the South Shore of Massachusetts. The response was incredible! Teachers, parents, students, and guidance counselors loved it. Our goal now is provide the same great service to school communities in every state.
To celebrate our expansion and to encourage teachers from all over the country to register, we are offering a 2-year membership for only $12. That is the only cost to the teacher. 50 cents a month! (A very low cost for the opportunity to make several thousand dollars a year.)
There are no tricks. No other gimmicks.
Our entire service is based on one simple belief…. “Teachers are great tutors!” We only list teachers. No one else!
In order to be the best, we need to recruit the best. So we came up with our special promotion of $12 for a two year membership. We want to give teachers a raise, by allowing them to keep 100% of their tutoring fees.
The more teachers who sign-up for our service, the more valuable we are to parents.
    What is the catch?
This rate is a special, limited introductory offer that will expire on January 1, 2012. We promise to keep our fees low, however after this date, we will be charging a one time registration fee of $10 in addition to the $12 for a one year membership, not two years!
We want to be transparent with our service and fees. So to break it down per month.
Sign-up date            registration fee    membership fee  monthly fee
    Before January 1, 2012    $0            $12 for 2 years        $0.50
    After January 1, 2012        $10            $12 for 1 year            $1.84
$0.50 a month? What can we say? “We love teachers and parents!”
Be the first teacher in your area to register. What do you have to lose? 50 cents a month? A better question might be what do you have to gain? $30 – $85 an hour (a teacher sets the hourly fee) and the potential to earn several thousand dollars over a school year.
If you visit our website and search for a tutor in Quincy, Massachusetts, zip code 02169, you can see how it works.
If you have any questions, feel free to email – mark@mytowntutors.com.

  • The Best $5 Investment Any Teacher Could Make!

My Town Tutors can help many teachers make as much as $4,000 in just 10 months! Teachers keep 100% of the tutoring fees.
My Town Tutors connects parents with local teachers who tutor. Our website is based on two simple beliefs:

    1. “Teachers are great tutors!”
    2. Parents want great tutors for their children.

    How does it work?
    1. A teacher registers using our limited promotion code – teacher. It costs $5.00 for one full year ($0.42 per month).
    2. The teacher completes his / her profile and sets their hourly rate. For our example, the hourly rate will be $50.
    3. Parents search for a tutor and connect with a teacher in their area. In our example, we will assume the teacher tutors two students per week for the entire school year (10 months).
The teacher pays just $5 to be listed on My Town Tutors. If a teacher has two one-hour tutoring sessions per week, this teacher will make:

    • $100 per week
    • $400 per month
    • $4,000 per 10 month school year

In some cases, a parent will wait until a mid-term / progress report or the end of the term to request a tutor. However, with standardized testing, graduation requirements, higher class sizes, SAT prep, and classroom cut-backs; tutors are in high demand. (Many parents also would like tutoring during the summer months as well.)
    Teachers are great tutors!
This is the core belief of My Town Tutors. If you are a teacher, why not give tutoring a try? Your five dollar investment might just make you an additional $4,000 per year or even more!
We need teachers for all subject areas and grade levels. We need tutors in every state.
Tutoring is a great, flexible opportunity for teachers to earn excellent income. and parents love the fact that all our tutors are teachers.
We would appreciate any feedback from parents and teachers. Our goal is to be the best resource for parents looking to find a qualified tutor.
And remember “Teachers are great tutors!”

  • Divstrong LLC improves the teacher profile for My Town Tutors!

My Town Tutors, a website that connects parents with teachers who tutor, is working with Divstrong Productions to enhance the teacher profile page to help a parent or guidance counselor make a more informed decision when selecting a tutor.
Below is a brief explanation of these features. We are very proud of the “Tutor Location” option. This feature was inspired by feedback from our teachers. It allows for so much more flexibility for the teacher.
    1. Tutor Location – This was the most desired update to My Town Tutors. A teacher now has the opportunity to select a tutor location other than their school. So a student has the opportunity and flexibility to work with a teacher from another school system.
For example, if a teacher works in Quincy and lives in Marshfield, the tutor location can be either town. One teacher may prefer to tutor in Quincy, while another prefers Marshfield. We also allow teachers to select both locations if they are interested. We are glad to provide this flexibility for parents and teachers.
    2. Teaching School – This information is the most important information on our profile page because it lets us and more importantly, parents, know that the tutor we list is a teacher. One of the first steps a teacher completes in the QUICK registration process is the school of employment.
Our service is based on a fundamental belief that “Teachers are great tutors!” We verify that each person in our directory is a teacher or has been a teacher. We do not list college students or student teachers. Each individual in our directory is a teacher.
    3. Education – Our teacher’s fill out their educational background so you can see the college and graduate degrees. Many of our teachers have advanced degrees. This information is also listed here.
    4. More About… A teacher has the opportunity to explain in detail “more about” themselves. Teachers can explain experience, special skills, and other information that they feel would be useful.
    5. Request Availabilty – This is the most important information needed to schedule an appointment. Parents fill out information that allows the tutor to contact them directly to schedule an appointment.
We hope the information on the teacher profile page is useful and presented in a clear, user-friendly way. We are still testing out a few features that we hope to have completed by the end of the month.
We would love to hear your feedback. Divstrong Productions has been incredible and we add any features that will improve the quality of the My Town Tutors website.
If you have any feedback, please email mark@mytowntutors.com.
