It’s always good to incorporate current events into a curriculum to create some excitement about schoolwork. At the end of October the World Series is played. This can be especially fun if a local team is in it.

There are may ways to incorporate the World Series into the classroom.

  1. Google It: “Elementary World Series Lessons,” “Middle School World Series Lessons,” or “High School World Series Lessons.” This is a good starting point for creating any type of lesson.
  2. Use AI: We typed into ChatGPT “Create a High School World Series Lesson involving social media accounts.” Here is what came up. Obviously a teacher needs to preview the lessons and make a few adjustments,
  3. Math Word Problems: Create math problems using World Series team names, and players. The problems also can be related to baseball statistics.
  4. Mascot Comparisons: Identify & compare the World Series (and maybe college mascots) for the state and compare with the mascots in your state.
  5. World Series Jokes: You also can share some of our World Series jokes.
  6. Geography Activities: Use the two teams and create geography activities based on the cities, states, and regions.
