Congratulations to the players, teams, and coaches who have qualified for the preliminary round of the state basketball tournament. It is a great accomplishment. It takes hard work and sacrifice. These teams have EARNED an opportunity to compete in an electrifying environment. The quality of basketball might not be quite the same as the final four teams, however the intensity, effort, and emotion will be matched.
Just like a state championship game. There will be incredible shots, forced turnovers, substitutions, and great team execution. Incredible memories will be made.
We focus on Massachusetts basketball, but this can be applied to all other states across America.
What to expect in the Preliminary Round:
- Half the teams will win and half the teams will end their season.
- Team celebrations and tears.

- Teams that play a game without having a practice due to a snowstorm or blizzard.
- There will be 32 teams remaining with a dream of being state champion.
