  1. The Motivational Speech – Often in athletics coaches attempt to motivate players through discussions and pre-game. Outside of athletics we are also motivated by the words of others, friends, parents, co-workers, etc. Describe a time you were motivated by the words of another.

  5. The Naysayers – In life there are always people who doubt our abilities and question are goals. Describe a time when you pursued a goal that was questioned by others, yet still achieved it.

    3. Describe what you need to do and sacrifice to complete it
    4. What did it feel like once you accomplished it? How did the doubter react to your accomplishment?

  2. The Blowout – Describe a time when you or your team felt completely overmatched OR a time you’re your team overmatched the opponent.

  1. The new person in town – In the middle of the selection process, the coach introduces a new player. Being new to a group stirs many emotions. If you have been new to a town, school, group, or team. Explain that situation.

  1. Emotions – There are so many emotions we experience. Describe some of the examples of emotions in the film.
  1. Being part of something bigger than you – The “Miracle on Ice” was a special moment in history that all Americans felt an incredible sense of pride and connection. Describe an experience where you felt part of an event that was larger than life.
